We made it to the Mainland!

Here we are at our surprise party during the monthly PCC team meeting. We were very surprised!

Margaret and Steve Wheelwright gave us a party in their home.

Smiling for the camera at our party at Wheelwrights.

What a busy month it has been! Retirement is wearing me out! But we are finally settled into our condo in Salt lake and enjoying life--albeit a very busy life. Before leaving for Utah, we had a surprise party at the team meeting. Gifts were presented and we were dressed in leis and pareas (sulus) and Greg even had to dance with one of the employees. We were very surprised and touched by the kindness. In some ways it was very hard to leave.

Beautiful shores of Maui outside our hotel.

We left Oahu on March 5 and took the Superferry (which we hear has been cancelled!) to Maui. It was a fun ride of three hours during which time I saw a whale jump completely out of the water. He actually looked like a giant dolphin. While on Maui, we saw loads of Whales and played lots of golf. Even though it was overcast and sometimes rainy, we still had a good time. We enjoyed a luau and a fabulous meal at Mama's Fish House and also enjoyed roaming around the island. Greg enjoyed stopping at Costco for a hot dog. It's a right of passage! We drove clear up to the top of the volcano on Maui, but couldn't see a thing. The whole area was socked in with fog. This was a disappointment but that's what happens when we have no control over the weather.

We arrived in Salt lake on the 9th and have been running ever since. The highlights of the month are as follows:
  • Michelle , Andrew and kids stayed with us for a week.

  • The two Kesler Monkeys!

  • Janessa and Jordan blessed their baby girl, Claire Michelle. We had a nice lunch at Jordan's parents' house.
  • Lauren checking out Claire's Beautiful Flower!

  • Our shipment arrived on my birthday. We worked all day and into the night putting it all away.
  • We got a new mattress for our bed, necessitating a change to our bedspread--something I am working on right now.
  • We have not golfed yet as the weather has been wintery. Greg is dying to get out.
  • We helped Marty and Tammy move.
  • We have spent lots of time with family--it's been great!
  • We've been exercising everyday. I do Yoga three times a week.
  • We love our ward and our neighbors.
  • We both have callings in the ward already.
  • Greg taught Priesthood meeting last Sunday
  • I am leading the music in church on Easter.
  • We are home teaching and visiting teaching together.
  • It's great to be back and we are looking forward to General Conference this weekend.
  • It was great to see Heather and Kristin play volleyball in their tournament.
  • Jay blew out his knee during training at the Police Academy. He's been on crutches and will probably have surgery! Ouch!
  • We went to a luncheon in honor of the Brazilian Ambassador to the United States. Very nice.
  • And tonight, we are going to a Play at Hale Theatre. Life is good!
