Claire Michelle Taylor- She's #14

Janessa and Jordan have a baby girl! Claire Michelle Taylor entered the world at 5:16 PM on January 7th after an all day labor in which many family members participated. Jordan's parents and two sisters were there in the room supporting the couple and I was also there to see this great event. By the time the baby came, there were a dozen people in the room coaching, watching, or waiting to do their part (doctors, nurses and medical students!). Once again, I was able to see a grandchild come into the world. I have to say it is a spiritual as well as a very emotional experience. Janessa was a trooper--she did very well. I was glad she had medication for the pain as the day would have been very long without it!

Here is a before photo of Janessa--she even has makeup on! Baby Claire is 2 days old in this cute photo that I caught with a little smile on her face! Janessa had many visitors while in the hospital and when she arrived back home. Kristin came and enjoyed holding her little neice and the Coleman gandchildren enjoyed seeing another little cousin in the fmaily. Janessa spent hours blogging the whole experience. As for me, I just made the meals and did the laundry and coached Janessa on nursing the baby--something that she seems to be a natural at doing. The baby is too. Jordan is a very hands on dad and changed all baby Claire's diapers in the hospital! I am sure Janessa enjoyed this break from duty as we all know what those first two days of diapers look like!!!

We hope that Janessa and Jordan will enjoy every minute caring for their little girl.
