My Quirks

I know I am far from perfect and I am sure I do weird things, but I only can think of a few quirks. So here goes---if you can think of more, be my guest and let me know.

1. The girls always tell me that when they say something that triggers some memory of a song line, I break into song. I guess I do this sometimes, but generally it is only with them. When I am golfing in the mornings, quite often I start singing, "Oh what a beautiful morning." You just have to sometimes!

2. I am a bit of a perfectionist in some things. I especially get bugged when I see misspelled words. They just jump out at me on the page! And I get embarrassed for people who write on the blackboard and misspell easy words.

3. It bugs me to see kids walk around with bottles hanging out of their mouths or binkies in their mouths when they are old enough to go to school. It is just irresponsible parenting. How do they learn to talk? I had lots of quirks as a young mother. But I can't remember all of them. I have mellowed with age!

4. If I don't get a pedicure often, I start tearing off my toenails. I like them short and painted.

5. It bugs me to see women with obvious facial hair that they could easily pull out or shave. Don't they see it???

6. I jiggle my hands when I am nervous. It seems I am nervous a lot lately.

7. I look at my hands when I type. This especially bugs Greg. I have really tried to not look at my hands but then I type so slowly that it bugs me and I have to look at my hands again.

8. I am very protective of my family. I get so upset when someone hurts my husband or kids or grand kids.

9. When I plan something, I want it to come off perfectly. I have mellowed in this too. I think I did pretty well at the cabin, apart from one falling apart scene which I am still embarrassed about. I have a hard time forgiving myself too.

10. And last but not least... I hate it when people don't play the games by the rules. If you are going to play, then play by the rules!

Well, so I guess I did come up with a few didn't I????

I don't even remember you "falling apart?" Guess I'm just so used to your antics, haha :) JK! DAd is DEFINITELY quirkier, I have to say. I mean, he's more OCD about stuff, so it's funnier. You are just so FOFA. I love you!!! I have some of those quirks too--inherited from my wonderful Mainha!! (ie: misspelling words...TOTALLY) OH, and I have a few weird quirks when singing in choir--hate when we don't end on the same T and the director doesn't call it out, hate it when people don't roll their R's like they're supposed to, and hate it when people pronounce the latin wrong, in an American accent....yuck.

Kristina and I are jealous that we never get to see you guy's, and have never been to Hawaii, oh well your loss ha-ha, wait that’s our loss. I bet living in Hawaii is quit the experience. Take in all that you can for us until we can get over ourselves. Keep up the good work at the PCH. The family is so proud of all that your family has become and what you stand for. I hope to one day have a measure of your success and you’re capacity for doing good wherever I may find myself in life.

I look at my hands too when I type; I just can't help it.
